Whether you just arrived yesterday, moved here last month, or have called this place home your entire life, we invite you to join us! This event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about Grimstad’s rich culture and history while meeting new people.

Grimstad Municipality, the University of Agder, and the Grimstad Chamber of Commerce are excited to invite you aboard Solrik for an unforgettable evening on the water.

To help us plan, please register by Wednesday, September 4th. Spaces are limited to 70 participants, so don’t wait!

Please note that the ship will depart promptly at 17:15, so be sure to arrive on time!

This event is free of charge. Feel free to bring your own picnic, or you can purchase drinks on board.

This time, we will be exploring the areas behind the city center. Along the way, our guide Frode will teach us more about Hamsun's life and inspiration for his finalbook, "On Overgrown Paths".

Meeting place outside of Grimstad Vertshus og Kro (Frivoldveien 11-13)

After the walk, there is always the possibility of getting together at Apotekergaarden.

This time we are inviting you to meet Visit Grimstad and DnT (Norwegian Trekking Association) and learn more about walking trips and other outdoor activities to do this winter/early spring.

The event is free! We will serve some pizza and coffee/soda, so please let us know if you are coming by filling the registration form before Tuesday January 30th.

This time we are inviting you to a pre-Christmas dinner where you can learn more about Norwegian Christmas traditions and treat yourself to a delicious Christmas dinner (choose between Ribbe/Porkribs or Pinnekjøtt/Lambribs).

Price: 150 kr + drinks (water/coffee included)

We need to pre-order, so please register here by Tuesday November 7th.

17.15 – Guided tour of the museum (free of charge)

18.15 – Mingling at Apotekergaarden (food and drikns are not covered by the organisers)

Join us to learn more about Henrik Ibsen's time in Grimstad, which was a crucial period in his life where he worked as a pharmacist apprentice but pursued his passion for writing.

17.30 – Anita Aabel, Cultural Advisor at the municipality will talk about the 17th May celebration, explaining the history behind Norway's national day, traditions, and what to expect in the city.

18.00 – Mingling and pizza

Like last time, a pizza buffet will be served for 100 kr per person (drinks not included).
